The retail scene in town offers unrivaled choice for shoppers. West Street, the traditional heart of the town, has been transformed and is a comfortable and welcoming place to shop. Two retail centres (Laurence Town Centre and Scotch Hall) are located within the town centre area while the M1 Retail Park and Donore Road Retail park are located close to the M1 motorway. Public Transportation
Drogheda’s mainline rail station on the Dublin Road with the Enterprise train provides a fast travelling time of 28 minutes to Dublin’s Connolly Station and the I.F.S.C. The bus station also runs ever frequent and continuous daily bus services to Dublin city. The new M1 Motorway allows a greatly increased accessibility to Dublin and the M50.

The town has a wide variety of sports clubs including soccer, rugby, GAA, athletics and tennis in addition to the well renowned golfing clubs at Baltray (Co Louth), Seapoint (Links) and Bettystown (golf & tennis).

Drogheda has a vibrant arts scene including the Droichead Arts Centre, The Highlanes Gallery, the annual Samba Festival and the annual Drogheda Arts Festival which is now nationally acclaimed.

Education
Drogheda enjoys a wide selection of good montessori, primary and secondary schools. The choice of secondary schools within Drogheda include St. Mary’s Diocesan School (boys), Sacred Heart (girls), Drogheda Grammar School (boys & girls). Gormanston College is a private secondary school (boys & girls) situated just south of Drogheda and Scoil Aonghusa is an all Irish primary school at Sunday’s Gate, on the north side of Drogheda.
