An Grianán, Termonfeckin

Where

Termonfeckin Drogheda Louth

This beautiful stately home was origianlly built in the 18th Century by the McClintock family. The seeds of An Grianan, were sown in 1952, when Muriel Gahan of the ICA proposed the idea for a residential college for social and educational purposes to Dr Morris, of the WK Kellogg Foundation of America, through a chance introduction. It was purchased and entrusted for the benefit of the people of Ireland and in October 1954 it was officially opened and Trinity College conducted the first course.

An Grianán makes learning a delightful experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The extensive grounds that surround the college provide a wealth of walks, with the opportunity to stretch your legs as you take a leisurely stroll around the grounds, or enjoy a walk along the sandy beaches of Baltray and Seapoint.

Also set on the grounds of An Grianán, you will find The World Gate Restaurant which serves fine French cuisine using locally sourced, fresh produce, and An Grianan Garden Centre which offers a wide variety of plants, hand made ornaments, nature walks and lots more.
