Two of the most famous faces from Father Ted are putting on a very Christmassy Ted Special show to end our first year as Deadly Craic Comedy Club. Join us in celebrating a great first year by taking part in everybody's favourite comedy show in real life!
Joe Rooney is a stand up comedian, actor, screenwriter, musician and podcaster. Although performing is his bread and butter he is currently studying a Multimedia degree course in DCU and aims to diversify into documentary and film making. In the last 20 years Joe has performed stand up comedy from Moscow to Muscat and everywhere in between. He has brought his stand up shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Glastonbury Festival and Kansas City Irish Festival as well as a host of festivals in Ireland.
Rooney is very funny, but it is with his guitar in his hands that he becomes unmissable.
The Stage ****
The intensity he puts into his singing and character acting is on another level. His act rolls along smoothly and nothing felt forced….great stand up, excellent storytelling and full of gags.
Chortle 2019 ***

“McDonnell shines with edgy, intelligent one-liners” – The Stage
“McDonnell’s stand-up routine is a delight, a cynical, angry beast of a set
which never loses its comic edge” – The Scotsman
Patrick co-wrote and performed on two series of the O Show for BBC Radio 4. He has also appeared in a number of short films, including Solomon I, Swag, Stephanie Knows Who, Mebollix and the feature films Last Day in Dublin, Handsome Devil, Everything Looks Better in the Sunshine and Separation Anxiety.
