Dublin International Film Festival: The Inhuman Woman / L'inhumaine

Droichead Arts Centre are delighted to partner with Dublin International Film Festival 2026 as part of their curated silent film programme screening two classic silent films made in the 1920’s from France and the USA.
The Inhuman Woman/ L'inhumaine
Country of production: France
Year completed: 1923: Duration: 123 mins
Marcel l'Herbier's technically innovative and visually stunning science fiction romance centres on opera singer Claire Lescot, admired and desired by all, who falls in love with a young engineer, Einar, but will always put her art before everything, even love. When her inability to commit to the man she loves leads to a tragedy, she is forced to prove the greatness of her humanity, which she has always been afraid to reveal. We're delighted to present a brand new restoration of this classic 1923 silent film accompanied by a live score by composer Meg Morley, one of the UK’s pre-eminent silent films accompanists who has been playing alongside silent films since 2016.
