St Laurence’s Gate is widely regarded as one of the finest of its kind in Europe. On a clear day, the top of the gate boasts views of up to four miles along the Boyne and out to sea, making it the perfect stronghold of the Anglo-Normans. Climb to the top of this fourteenth century barbican after County Louth Heritage Officer, Brendan McSherry, and Community Historian Brendan Matthews share their knowledge on this outstanding structure.
Tickets to access the gate are very limited, and booking is essential.
