Something special is coming to Drogheda. A collaboration of local organisers building a new vision — Sound Town Night, taking place the last Friday of every month.

Droichead will see the return of their successful Night Moves Cafes beginning on the 27 Feb. Their first Cafe will feature Dagogo Hart, Roisin Ward Morrow and Clara Byrne in the Coffee Box. So between 8.30pm - 10.30pm drop in, grab a coffee and cake and enjoy!

Dagogo Hart is a Nigerian-Irish poet, playwright and performer based in Portlaoise and he is currently an Artist in Association with Droichead for 2026. His work blends lyrical poetry with storytelling across stage, screen and live experiences, exploring identity, belonging and culture. He has appeared on The Tommy Tiernan Show, RTÉ Radio 1’s Arena and Other Voices, and is co-founder of WeAreGriot, a performance collective creating commissioned work, workshops and curated events nationwide. Dagogo is a 2026 cohort artist on Irish Theatre Institute’s Six in the Attic/Virtual Attic, an Artist in Association at Droichead Arts Centre, JCSP Writer-in-Residence, and a board member of Bewley’s Café Theatre.

Roisin Ward Morrow A recipient of a Droichead Artist Bursary in 2021, Róisín is a fiddle player and folk singer from Co. Louth, Ireland. Róisín’s debut album, By the Light of the Moon, a collection of slow airs, was released to a sold-out audience at Fleadh Cheoil in 2019 and has received widespread acclaim. A seasoned performer, she has since toured extensively across Europe, sharing the stage with West-End tenor Peter Corry and renowned composer and pianist Carl Hession. During the lockdowns, Róisín began composing her own tunes, marking the beginning of a new creative chapter. As one of just seven Irish women featured in Tunes from the Women—a compilation of contemporary works by over 100 female composers from Britain and Ireland— Róisín has cemented her place in the modern folk landscape. In 2024, she continued to expand her international presence, performing a week-long residency in the Philippines and appearing at Áras an Uachtaráin during the summer for President Michael D Higgins. Her most recent release, the EP Whereon She Stands, reflects a period of personal and musical rerooting. Recorded in collaboration with guitarist Breifne Holohan, with the duo recently performing together in Italy.

Clara Byrne is a socialist singer-songwriter from Bray. She finds her lyrical inspiration in the world around her and seeks solitude from that world in the music she creates. She has been fortunate enough to support a wealth of Irish talent, including Wallis Bird, Cathy Davey and Mick Pyro. Most recently, she supported American artist Carsie Blanton at The Spirit Store and Altan at The Pavilion Theatre. "Handstitched" is her debut album, featuring talented musicians from Irish bands such as Thumper, Enemies, and Chief Keegan. It was released to a warm reception that included airplay on RTE Radio 1 and 98fm as well as some glowing reviews.

Night Moves is an innovative night time cultural programme led and produced by Droichead Arts Centre, curated by singer/songwriter, SJ McArdle, in collaboration with Drogheda’s Night-Time Economy Adviser and supported by the Drogheda Purple Flag group. Championing a more diverse night-time offering and helping trial what a more balanced evening economy might look like.
